DENTURES AND PARTIALS

dentures and partials

We offer the ability for patients to replace their severely broken, fractured, cracked, and painful teeth with full dentures to regain that complete and beautiful smile. A complete denture replaces all of the upper and lower teeth. During the fabrication of the dentures, the doctors will work hand-in-hand with the patient to choose teeth shade and shapes that complement their overall appearance and smile.

Functionality is another main priority. Lower dentures can often be referred to as “floaters” because they can have trouble gaining suction. If retention of the dentures is a concern, dental implants can be placed in the bone to give them support. When implants are connected to the denture, the dentures can be extremely stable.

A custom set of dentures can be fabricated and tested to ensure that speech is not affected. Often improperly made dentures can have no retention, create clicking noises during speaking, and a letter such as “s, f, and t” will not sound natural. At Magnuson Dental, we pride ourselves on the highest quality work that gives our patients’ dentures that they can be proud to wear.

What are all the types of Dentures?

Custom Traditional Complete Dentures
These replace all the upper and lower teeth. Patients already have all their teeth removed, and the tissue has healed. These dentures can have excellent fit and function because the bone and support tissue has remodeled and repaired since the teeth were removed.

Custom Immediate Complete Dentures
These dentures are designed and fabricated so that during the appointment, all existing teeth are removed. In other words, walk-in with your old broken, fractured, and painful teeth and walk out with a gorgeous smile. Over the next 6-12 months, the supportive tissue and bone remodeling during healing. These dentures need to be realigned to replace the repaired areas with acrylic to better support the denture.

Traditional Partial Dentures
Still, have some natural teeth? Are implants too expensive or not possible? A partial denture is made by having a metal framework that rests on your natural teeth with acrylic and false teeth placed in the missing area. The partial can be taken in and out as needed. A partial denture is a great option when missing several teeth on the upper or lower.

Flexible Base Partial Denture
Adjustable base partial dentures are an excellent option when there are some existing natural teeth, but they are not strong enough to support the framework of a traditional partial denture. Flexible base partials use the tissue and bone to support the acrylic and false teeth. These partials are not ideal in all circumstances but still a great option and cost-effective for some that still have a few natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Dentures
These dentures are exceptional when retention or suction of a denture is severe. In other words, if the denture does not want to stay in place, then this can solve that problem. Dental implants are placed, and a small metal ball is screwed into the implant that rests just above the gums. The corresponding denture has a socket that locks on the ball of the implant. Although the denture may be removed, it is stable and very secure when speaking, chewing, and smiling. People may not even realize that you have a denture because it appears so natural.
